Golf
Ballymote is an ideal base for a golfing holiday, with links Championship
courses only half an hour away at Rosses Point, Enniscrone and Strandhill as
well as a newly designed exciting 9-hole course at Ballymote itself.
Tubbercurry has a 9-hole parkland course, as does County Sligo Golf Club in
north Sligo.
There are several Pitch & Putt courses including Tubbercurry and Enniscrone
Watersports
Sligo boasts some of the cleanest waters in Europe with beautiful sandy beaches.
Enniscrone has a 5km stretch of safe, blue flag beach.
Good surfing can be found at Strandhill and Easkey and there is a thriving yacht
and sailing club at Rosses Point. Windsurfing is popular at Rosses Point and
there is a diving centre in Bunduff.
Cruises
The Wild Rose Water Bus offers several cruises a day to view the Lake Isle of
Inisfree - the island that inspired Yeats to write Ireland's most popular poem.

Horse Riding
Island View Riding Stables arrange pony-treks along the beautiful sandy beaches
of north Sligo as well as full day treks to Mullaghmore and the Dartry
Mountains.
Markree Castle Riding Stables offers treks to Union Forest, Ballygawley Mountain
and Slish Wood, or you can ride on the grounds of Markee Castle.
